An Incredibly sad day in history. So Many were affected by the Horrible actions of terrorists 20 years ago today. To those who perished… We Love you! You are Not forgotten! Godspeed R.I.P.

Well said mopar saver! God bless the fallen and the ones that fell years later from it. Hero’s are among us, right here in the best country in the world. God bless America, We are still one nation under God!

I am 35 minutes East of the towers, watched the horror unfold on TV, was glued like the rest of the nation,
But being here at the very beginning of Long Island, when I went outside I could SMELL what was happening on TV.

I , like all of us, will never forget.....

I lost friends and acquaintances that day 9/11/2001 and
since, whom were involved in the operations that day.

20 years ago, it doesn’t seem possible. I was at home that morning, as I was working pm’s. Wife called and told me to turn on tv. Just a few minutes after I did, the second plane hit.
The girls at the doctors office where my wife worked, decorated the office with black balloons and such, celebrating her birthday. A patient came in and saw all that and was livid at their lack of respect. Hell, they didn’t know. They had to hurry and take everything down.

I lost 5 from the town I grew up in. I went to school with 3 of them. 2 brothers, firefighters, the other was a neighbor of mine retiring from the NYPD that very day.
All lost there life’s to there call of duty.

I count my blessings though. 1st is my cousin and his wife work within the towers. 1 in each. Both escaped and walked out of toe towers into Brooklyn and on home.
2nd, my brother was supposed to be at work on the top floors. He decided not to go into work that day.

Awful thing that day and beyond, and many are clueless.

I think we have forgotten. The only reminder of 9/11 is the TSA making certain you don't bring shampoo on a airplane.

My brother in laws older brother died on the second plane that hit the towers and today like every year he has to watch his brother die over and over again, every time they show the footage. RIP James!

An interesting development because of 9/11/2001....

We had a Friday night car gathering in the town where one of my friends, Jimmy S. was a volunteer fireman, after his day job as an NYFD fireman...
(He could never get enough of helping people, and lending a hand to the world, day and night.....)

His one break was Friday nights when he would join all of us at the cruise night in his 1969 Pontiac GTO....

That following Friday, About Sept. 21st, when we had a smaller gathering, because we had all had enough of mourning, and wanted to prove to the world we were
U S A STRONG.....
two dozen of us drove over to Jimmy's Station house, adorned with bunting (They lost 3 altogether), and sung
Patriotic songs together, and kinda lifted us all up a little bit.... That is actually what I care to remember most....

The road to recovery and becoming whole again had
begun !!! (That, and the Mike Piazza Home Run)......

Twenty years ago today, I was at home on medical leave. My wife had gone to work, and called me to tell me to turn on the tv to a U.S. station. The early word up here in Ontario was that New York City was being bombed or something. I turned on the tv in time to see the second jetliner hit the second tower. The first tower was already in flames. I was horrified and in disbelief! I had never witnessed thousands of people being murdered before. The world has never been the same since.
I was at a local car show today, and the organizer called for a moment of silence to honour our neighbours to the South who had lost so much twenty years ago today. It does not seem that it was that long ago. When I got home from the show, my wife was watching a show on tv about the disaster. It dealt with the grounding of all incoming flights to USA. On that day, about 60 airliners landed at a remote airfield in Gander, Newfoundland, and unloaded nearly 7000 passengers on the area. The small nearby communities fed, clothed and housed these surprise visitors for five days. Many of these passengers were invited into private homes. A musical play was made about this event and has toured many cities in both Canada and USA. The musical is called "Come From Away". This is a Nfld. saying for "You're not from around here". The musical celebrates how a small Canadian community was willing to step up and help their American neighbours in their hours of need. Gander still has a memorial service every year to honour this terrible event. Many people who were part of the 7000 make the journey back to be part of the memorial. Twenty four Canadians also lost their lives in the World Trade Centre that day.

A Marine from St. Charles County, Missouri Lance Corporal Jared Schmitz was killed by a suicide bombing in Kabul. A total of 13 U.S. service members were among those killed in Afghanistan after the attack at the Kabul airport. A private funeral service will be held for Schmitz where he will later be laid to rest at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. This is what I still get to see from people who never were made to pay for what they did on 9-11. His public viewing was yesterday, 9-11. His parents are best friends of people that I know and this service took place at the funeral home my family uses, not 2 stone throws from my home. I can't get political here, but, his family is not happy with the way things were handled. The turn out for this young man was incredible, thousand of people stretched out for 12 miles and more motorcycles than I have ever seen personally in one place. This is the way our town rolls for those that gave all. No, I will never forget!! Prayers sent to all!!

A Division 5 race at TriState here in Iowa. All racing stopped and the scoreboards were lit. Perfect.

That's screwed up!! The older I get, the less I understand!!

People need to see this and parents need to pay attention to where they are sending their kids ( and money). They can't rig the "dollar vote". The same people that get angry watching this video will also sit around and watch the NFL and MLB while drinking a Coke and wearing Levi's and come up with some lame *** reason why it's ok, deep down they know it isn't but lack the character to inconvenience themselves.
