save the complete motor,I have a complete 440 that I am saving, checked the crank, not drilled for a manula trans. I have another 440 crank, checked it too, not drilled for a manual trans.
use the other 440 crank,its gonna have to be rebalanced as will the rods/pistons = have them machine the pilot as well.
this is gonna let you use the Light pistons for the 400,instead of the slugs,which of course is gonna rev Way faster.
im in the same boat,ever since i read that tech article/the whole thing,ive been researching how to get a 451 put together partswise on the cheap but done = Balanced Correctly.
