So i got the hemi fired up on the run stand a couple weeks ago. I had a rear main seal leak so back on the engine stand to pull the pan and repair seal. had a small leak on the back passenger head oil return galley so i pulled the intake to pull the head to seal around oil returns. I was surprised to see how much oil was in all intake ports with exception of #8 I used prussian blue on the intake gaskets and had good contact around all ports. Wondering now if the intake gasket is still leaking here’s some pics of the ports after i wiped them out some. also used prussian blue again this time without the gaskets in place. also the new plugs were oil fouled really bad.

Looks a little weak on the bottom. Can you get some pictures of the gaskets on the manifold side to see the impression from intake? I'd keep retorqueing the manifold until the bolts don't loose torque. I'd also slightly over torque them to hasten the process. You'll find it will take a day or so and 5 or 6 retorques.

yea sure thing Fran I’ll post some pics. I do know the gaskets are not dry along the bottom of the port but I do see the impression from the flange on the heads. give me second and I’ll post pics.

looks like its sealing good, possible PCV issue, no baffles ?? Run it!!!!

Here’s the pics of the gaskets both look the same. Total run time on this thing is about 20 minutes.

well you did flip the engine upside down to fix the rear main ?

Yes and that could for sure explain all the oil on the bottom of the intake gaskets. But not all the oil going through the intake ports.

& did you re torque the intake, I would also get a little thicker gasket from superformance gaskets

old crappy gas will leave an oily coating , seen it many times

I did not retorque the intake before I fired it up. And yes I thought about getting the thicker gasket but of course they are out of stock.

PCV system ?
Didn’t have the PCV connected

There’s always a chance I got some bad gas since most people don’t run non ethanol 93 pump gas due to the cost.

all new, rings are not seated, assemblym oil on the valves & guides ?

How thick are your intake gaskets? If .031 a little on the thin side. If you need 1/16" or .060" gaskets got some. Thin gasket won't compress that much to seal the bottom edge.
