What increase c.i. wise, if any, will 440 rods yield in a 383?
thank for your answer, but please stick to the subject. by the way, yes you can if you get the pistons from diamond and the pin end is 990.Factory 440 rod length is 6.760", factory (B) 383 rod length is is 6.358", dang near a 1/2" difference....you can't just slap 440 rods into your 383.
wth does have to do with the question, you're chasing rabbits. you can marry a 6ft 130 lb woman with a super model body too but that doesnt make her any less ugly either. You can put a 440 crank in a 383 and get a 426, but that dont make it a Hemi.![]()
really, I thought a longer stroke used more of the cylinder and that increased ciYou get a displacement increase from a bigger bore, or a longer stroke , or both.
Rod length has NOTHING to do with cu.in.
thank you thats what I was looking forThe stroke of the crank and the volume of the bore are what decides how many inches you have.
It will increase RPM capability. Potentially all around torque as well. What increase c.i. wise, if any, will 440 rods yield in a 383?
Yes, a longer stroke does increase cu.in., but that is done by changing the crankshaft, not the connecting rods.really, I thought a longer stroke used more of the cylinder and that increased ci
