Anyone have pics of the clips/fasteners & locations, behind the A pillar trim of a 62 Dart.

Edit: Deleted my pics bc they were loading sideways, don't know about you but that erks me.

Edit: Ah finely, pix loaded correct. I've pried the trim out a good bit trying to see where the clips are to the point shy of warping and haven't seen a clip yet.

No clips at all. It just gets pried off like you are doing. just be very gentle with maybe a plastic putty knife with painters tap on it and gently work it until it starts to pop off a bit. Then grab it on windshield side and very gently work it up and over the drip rail edge. Start at he top, once it begins to come Wish I had a better explenation of the technique but that is what I did and to my amazement it worked. Putting it on is even more delicate of operation and need a little tape to protect the paint and I sprayed the rubber and drip rail with wd-40 and starting from the inside I popped it over the drip rail edge and then over it onto the rubber. Just go very slowly. Wish I had documented this better. Use you hands only and once you get it started off and on

There's a guy from Kentucky goes by the name Junior, has a real fast N/T 62 with a killer motor and great patina. Love his car ! I think he grudge raced the Hustlin Hoosier Barracuda at one time and WON ! Anyone have any pics lately of his car ?

Older pics, ...steel fenders.
The gap on the Hooser race.
Later on, ... glass fenders.
The N2O Ka-Boom, ... sometime in 2021 I think.
He's been rebuilding it. I just don't have any updates,...haven't talked to him in a while.

Thank you very much. Thought I was gonna warp it, so I stopped till I could find out more.

This is going back a lot of years, but I used to use one of those pop can openers (before they had tabs). You put the tang under the trim, and gently pried up.

Those old school can openers work great on the drip rail trim, and for staightening the drip rails themselves 5/16 of and inch at a time! LOL. Dont ask me how I know! I would not recommend using on the Pillar trim (just me), that trim is very fragile and sensitive to any pressure put on them, dont ask me how I know that either!

How did you make out buddy?

Been side tracked by a new toy,...an SRT8 Challenger needing an engine fix.

Before this I had nothing newer than my 96 dually and my 60's cars and trucks. This newer stuff is a lot more challenging to work on! Everything packed like sardines!

Little late to the Party but after Shawandas Nitrous pop (Thanks to VP for their poor fuel storage) she’s under full reconstruction there’s not really an estimated date on her return to the track just yet. The Owners a good buddy of mine and has a couple projects that have taken priority is a good way to put them.

wow that thing burned down bad... how bad did it end up? glass/interior and all?

Hello, this will sound weird but i need a measurement if anyone has their '62 plymouth apart.. my manual doesn't include body dimensions.. What i am looking for is the distance from the top of the inside of the quarter without the trim panels in to the other side at the same spot.. I want to make sure mine is pinched before i start moving metal around...

A pic or letting me know the exact spot measured from would be nice also :) thanks guys

It didn’t burn but the firewall got trashed the windshield got trashed all the fiberglass was in chunks that could get found. Some of its also just to make it faster takes a lot for a nitrous leaf spring car to hang with these all Billet Pro Charge composite body cars these days.

Ah.. could be worse then... the pics look like it would be a total loss

She’s bad but it definitely could have been a lot worse honestly other than the front clip the rest of the car is just fine she’ll be back and better than ever. Operating on a limited budget definitely makes it take more time though.

I bought the Original Shawanda from him a couple years back it’s also about to be in the process of being redone.
