in building a 64 330 its a old drag car the core support is removed and the firewall was moved back also the floor was modified . id like to take it to the track(antique drags, hot rod reunion etc) but dont know what it would be in tried looking at the NHRA rules but got a headach any help thanks

You need to get In touch with the tech director at that track. only they can truly help you.

Sounds like A/FX to me. Factory Experimental Class.
Look up You Tube South East Gassers (And others) that do Nostalgia races. Many have Gassers,A/FX, and Super Stock classes.
You can try Google for "Texas Outsiders" another group of Nostalgia racers.

Really depends on the race and the organizers.

As an example we meet all of the rules for Superstock in a couple of events we race. Full interior, bone stock front suspension, leafsprings, all steel... One event in particular they decided to bump us up to Gas Coupe/Sedan because someone had seen how fast the car was at another track and cried to the event organizers. That's okay, I went out and set fastest time in THAT class last two times and won the event both times!

Redding Ca. www/norcalnostalgiaracing.com
has some Nostalgia races,
I'm not familiar with their org, or rules

ANRA.com maybe, not sure if they still race
they used to be at LACR
maybe Fontana, Irwindale or Pomona
maybe Ramona, east of SD/Poway area

Bakersfield/Famoso Raceway
maybe has more than the NHRA Heritage events

Sacramento Raceway,
has nostalgia events too

Sears Point/Infineon Raceway, Sonoma
use to do a couple nostalgia events a season too

But;
Check the NHRA Heritage Series/HotRod Reunion stuff
'NHRA' Nostalgia rules
IIRC they run twice in Bakersfield/Famoso raceway
IIRC 1 time in Sacramento too
your car should fit in one of their classes
it starts at like 12.50 & goes to 7.50
A, B, C, D, E, G (?)/Gas Classes, something along those lines

I'm not sure if SCTA (Southern Calif. Timing Assoc.)
is still doing events or not
or Goodguys, both had good Nostalgia racing & specific rules
& specific year cut off etc., been a while since I did any at all

IMO it won't be legal in S/S classes
not from your description of the mods

in any of them,
you will need all the approved SFI safety equipment &
a min of a rollbar, usually a cage,
Snell appr. helmet & SFI (in date) harness
if you run slicks you need longer wheel studs & open nuts
a driveline safety loop min.
no, brake or fuel lines going across the firewall etc.
if it has headers, the collectors need to be SFI retained

good luck

I have been down this road. And there is no cookie cutter description. If you have a cut firewall and engine is set back? Forget about any Super Stock classification. Modified Stock is closer. But that's also tight. And some very fast cars. This of course if you are looking to run on an NHRA divisional circuit. FX Nostalgia is your likely destination. And that really comes down to qualifying times. With breakouts.

I agree events and organizers can have varying rules.
