69 Super Bee Rebuild (my way)

I hear your excitement and I'm real happy for you. But try to contain yourself and do not get in a hurry or you may make a mistake.

Yeah, I've been through this rodeo a few times before. It's just always exciting for me to get a car home after the paint is done. To me it means that the end is in sight. Also will be glad to get it back to my place before we get buried in snow and slippery roads. I am a lone wolf HVAC contractor and so buried in work right now that I can't even think of playing in the garage, but at least I know it is safe and sound and ready for me when I have some time.
And just so you know, you are one of the reasons this car is being painted the color it is. I still remember the first day you posted pics of your R/T and then again when you got your new tires and wheels .

Starting to feel like a little kid at Xmas time over here in WI. Got a call from my buddy asking for more supplies for the Bee. Stopped over to drop the stuff off and helped him take the hood off for the final prime and blocking. AND the best part is that he wants the body color and clear delivered next week. Everything is moving along nicely.

Great progress, bodywork looks great

Looks like I got myself a copper Bee. My buddy just sent me these pics 1/2 hour ago. I am going to check it out in person tomorrow.

Just read this whole thread. What great work you are doing. I just drug home a 69 Super Bee, 383, 4spd post car, a week ago. Where in WI are you? I am in Oshkosh.

100 miles straight east of the Twin Cites. Where did you find your Bee?

Actually in the Slinger/Jackson area or about an hour south of me. So you must be in the Chippewa Falls/ Cadott area? Not far from where I found my Demon.

Yep.

Few more pics. He is hoping to paint the black on the inside of the doors, interior upper quarter pieces, and inside of the B pillar posts today. Then a cut and buff and haul it back to my garage!

Been getting the dash in order while the car is away getting painted. It was a normal crusty 50 year old piece. Stripped it apart, blasted, epoxy primer, and painted with textured PPG black.

I always take all the switches apart, clean the contacts, dialectric grease, and check that they are operational. The only difficult one is the light dimmer switch. It is riveted together, so a guy has to drill those out. I put them back together with a couple of socket head cap screws.
