'72 Charger project

after a lot of talking to people that do painting.....I ended up going with BC/CC. Prices seem to be all over the place from real cheap to super expensive. This will be my sons daily driver....so after a lot of reading...I went with Nason...seemed to cover decent..and was easy to spray.

Nason is excellent stuff for the money, flows really nice and covers good.

UPS dropped of a box of noise for it today

Great day in the garage so far. The front suspension is back in and wheels on. Rear springs are in and just reassembled the rear axle. It should be able to be pushed around on all 4 wheels....that will be a nice change! oh...and also go the fornt Hellwig swaybar mounted...very nice.anyone out there have a 72 B body rear axle with a decent gear for cheap??? We currently have a 2.7?

got it out of the garage on 4 wheels. Now I can clean the garage better and keep the sanding outside.

color looks real nice. How do we get to see the car all in color?

I'm a bit slow when it comes to body work....but hope to have the rest painted this week sometime

No problem,i'm just anxious to see your car in the color.

today was a day of one mess up after the other. started by putting sealer on the car...and the gun started spraying weird 1/2 way through.... let it dry and sanded out the bad spots. then started over, and the quick connect on the air hose broke apart. Finally got color and clear, and I bumped into a spot on the right rear quarter. I'll fix that tomorrow....but at least we made a little progress

Not the best pic, but engine and trans are in..late last night..but the engine seems a bit high. it has the right mounts and all, just seems tall. 383 with performer RPM intake and edelbrock carb. Need to get the fenders finished up and back on, see how things line up then

One sweet looking car, I wish I had that much time to work on my 72 charger, if you ever want to work on another pm me. Since you are doing one already next one will go much faster, lol Did that car have a stock 440 or different engine, what tranny and rear you have in there. Good luck and keep pics coming, where have you been fi:headbang:nding parts and best prices on things. THX

Thanks Mach.. The car was an original 318 auto car. Now its a 383 auto. It still has the 8 1/4 rear axle. So far, the only real parts we have needed to buy have been for the engine rebuild and assorted suspension parts in the classifieds and ebay. We have been able to patch everything else as far as body panels go. right now we are just waiting on a radiator so we can fire it up.

Looking sweet Matt, Big difference, i hope the fenders and hood get you settled in with it.. you Really have done a great job on all this, and hope you manage to get a couple rides in it before the bad weather sets in.. Don't hurry her along though! lol. :)

Thanks Ron....I hope to get a couple drives in it period. It will be my sons DD....and I know it will be hard to get the keys from him once its moving:argue:

You may need to try a different hood ( bulge or scooped) or a low profile air cleaner. Mine wouldn't fit under my hood either. Im also using rpm intake. My guess is go with a drop base air cleaner. Or change intake...
