74 Charger Rallye 440 TX9

Front end progress. Torsion bars were a PITA with the isolated cross-member. Got the shift linkage in and adjusted.

Cooled off nicely today after a brutal heat streak. Doors are open. Got the upper ball joints, spindles, tie rods, and caliper adapters installed. Rotors and bearings should be here in a couple days.

Front suspension is done. Used Hawk ceramic pads for the brakes. The sway bar was a PITA to get installed and after pressure washing the house all morning shoving that thing around to get it to find it's happy spot has pretty much done my back in for today. Good thing I have to work tomorrow as I can relax...

Last step while it is on the lift is to cut and buff the lower areas while at chest level then some temp tires and push it outside for a much needed power wash.

Torsion bars? Yes. You can install them with the upper control arms installed but you need to remove the rebound bumper and let the entire assembly drop down as much as possible.

Cutting in the clear. Always a good time!

whats "cutting in" the clear? ...... you cutting it to buff?

Yes. The lower areas did not have good color coverage so I resprayed the areas and cleared up to the body line so I needed to blend in the areas.

Finished sanding the lower areas to 2500 and polished with Meguiar's 105 and 205. Put the Road Runners wheels on it since the 14" tires will work well on my dollies. Needs a serious power washing as it has been up in the air a year or more... Tomorrow is a neighborhood BBQ/party so Sunday it will see daylight and moved to the other bay to start on the interior/stripes/ wiring etc.

God that car is BEAUTIFUL! It reminds me of one I owned, can't call it mine, as it will always be Pete's charger. He was with me this year at Carlisle. We've been friends since I was 20 and he was 19. Lol.
