A Chevy Crate Engine for $33,000

A good 800-900 hp Ford or Chevy dirt late model engine is $40-50,000.

A fresh used one with 2000 laps is $20,000

I bought a ticket on a raffle engine at our big car show.. it was a 350 crate 300hp type thing. They advertised it as 11,500. The look on my daughter's face was " WTF??".
Priceless.

Well that 2k less then my FHO 572 hemi and 200hp less ill still take the hemi and the hemi is much prettier

Mopar has a crate engine that 1200 or 1500hp. I don’t want to know how much that is.

Yep, that's a decent discount on the 1000 hp 632. I think sticker on it was $40k
I'd rather have blueprints 632. 800 plus horsepower, with a warranteeand a carb. (Do all the electronics for chevy f.i. come with it for that 33k? I bet not) about 17k now, I think. It was 12.5 k when I first started looking at it. 15K extra bucks compared to chevies version can do a lot for the drivetrain behind 800hp.
I would have bought one if it fit in my Opel, but it doesn't ( no tall deck will fit, no raised exhaust either).
The new 1500hp hemi stickers at $60K. And then, how much more money in the drivetrain to live behind 1500 hp?

For the price I did assume it had an aluminum block. But it’s iron.

So glad I am no longer in the hobby as I would have to take out a 2nd mortgage just for that engine alone. Everything now is just is way too expensive!!! cr8crshr/Bill :usflag: :usflag: :usflag:

Guess I will settle for a measly 400-450HP. Can build that mostly at home.
