A stock car flammin with a loser at the cruise control!

That sounds great, and I totally get it.
The appearance of the 4VFI units is just so attractive, that configuration, a cross ram, is impressive looking to begin with, and my imagination just jumped to that image.
Sounds like an awesome build!
To me, a Daytona or Superbird should be built with all of the benefits modern suspension technology can offer, and I would have a built 'Bird with a 5 or 6 speed standard transmission and an appropriate rear end gear for acceleration in the lower gears but a 200 MPH top end...
If I had one...
And I wasn't going for all original...
Like if it was far gone from original or a clone.
:D

That's what my plan for this car, when I saw this car for sale on Moparts,I was planning on buying a used Hellcat Challenger, but this project caught my eye. I knew that the Daytona aero package was good for over 200 MPH,and so is the modern Nascar chassis. I already had the Hemi,so it seemed like a no brainer for me. The crazy idea of having a 200 MPH Nascar street driven Hemi Daytona really seemed possible!

Sweet. This was one of my other Charger projects

I got my Christmas wish today! I delivered my 472 Hemi crate engines short block to the machine shop! Forward progress is always good!

An amazing build.... just read the entire thread. Love your progress and how you saved this car

Thanks Chuck, this project is a real learning curve for me,it will surely put my fabrication skills to the test.

It's still Christmas time for the Daytona stock car! My new MSD Pro Billet distributor, and FiTech hyper fuel fuel pump system came in to feed the dual quad fuel injection system! My spark plug wires are still being shipped.

When I got to the bottom of the box from Summit Racing, I found that they sent me a Hellcat too!

Yesterday I ordered an aluminum high volume water pump and housing kit with the billet water neck, and a billet rear main seal kit from Mancini Racing. I also found out that my 10 mm plug wires have been shipped from the manufacturer. I should have almost everything to build the Hemi. I will probably be ordering a March serpentine belt pulley set,a modern Mopar alternator, and a mini starter, for the accessories needed to dyno the engine.

Who said that Christmas was over! I musta been a good boy this year, because my gifts just keep a coming! Until my bank account is empty anyway ! Lol I got my 10 mm Live wires from Steve Davis, and the high volume aluminum water pump, housing, and billet water neck. I also got my billet rear main seal kit too!

I ordered a mimi starter too. The next things that I need to order are an MSD coil,a fuel pump block off plate, and the March serpentine belt pulley set up.

Well I have not updated this thread in a while, mostly because there has not been much activity on the project. The weather is finally starting to break here so I am hoping to get back to work on the car. Unfortunately I had a tire blow out on my Dodge diesel, and it destroyed my truck. It tore out the wiring harness and fusebox, and I ended up buying a new to me truck. This was a hit to the funds for the racecar, but I have been putting the money back in the fund to get the car back on track, and I am almost back to where I was. I am going to get my Dodge diesel back up and running again, but dealing with the insurance company just sucks! Anyway back to the racecar, I went to the machine shop the other day, and he has not started on my engine yet. This turned out to be a good thing because I have more time to get the funds back in order. He said that he is planning to get started on my engine by April. Once he does I will have more to post up on here. Stay tuned.

I made the mistake of taking my new wheels and tires off my truck for the winter, and putting the old ones back on it,and it cost me dearly. More pics.

The tire was only 4 years old, but it failed! Luckily I didn't hit anyone else. I was going 65 mph on the highway when it happened. This is my new to me truck.

Keep in mind that if you have a Dodge truck, that a blowout can take your truck out of commission! The fusebox is on the drivers side, and the computer is on the right. There is only a plastic splash shield between the tire and those components!
