In Nicks Garage latest vid, his bud seemingly over revved the 440 in his 66 Charger and broke the motor. In trying to understand the sequence of events, I am thinking, 1. Over revving led to the springs inability to close the valve, allowing it to be smacked by the piston. 2. This led to the retainer coming unsecured and the valve dropped down and smacked the piston again. 3. This broke/bent the valve face and allowed it to be hammered into the port sideways. 4. This , then, beat the piston deck until it crumbled. But, in noticing the valve retainer was broke almost in half, how did that happen.....was it possible that it was the first to break from over revving and that set up the sequence of destruction. As you can tell, I am no racer and have only grenaded one motor in my life....mine came apart in the bottom end first. thanks.....
