Alright I’m trying to get the correct antenna for my 68 Super Bee. All I can find is the telescoping mast. Mine came in today and the bezel is way bigger than the hole in the fender. It looks like a factory hole. Any suggestions?

That is not the factory hole in your fender. It should have 2 half round cuts on front and rear of hole to match that bezel. Yours had one cut to the side.

Sorry it’s time to cut for the stock one to fit.

That sucks. What are you going to do? I'd cringe if I had to cut into sheetmetal...

Yeah, I have to agree with R413, there's only 1 way ro make it fit RIGHT. I'd use a 3/16" drill bit, cut a 1/2 circle across from the other one. PAINT OVER the exposed metal or use some kind of sealer. Silicone preferably. It can be pain in the *** to get it where antanna stands straight up. I had to walk away from mine when I did it. But luckily I took pics. Easiest way is remove inner fender Splash Guard behind L wheel. You'll see all of this room..It will only work correctly ONE way. You'll know if its 180° backward.

Be sure you remove KICK PANEL inside car, and feed cable and new grommet before imstalling. Patience is a big help. You'll get it. The hole wint hurt as the BEZEL covers it. And dont forget the GASKET! I did.. Wasn't happy..lol :moparsmiley:

Yeah I know what I have to do, just don’t want to do it . Thanks for the pics though. I just wish I’d caught this when I had the car apart.

Digging through some pics of the car when I was disassembling it and found this. No pics of a mast on it, only the base.

Came home and took my step bit , sprayed it with wd-40, taped off around the hole and opened her up! Cut my groves front to back with a small file. Fits beautifully! Now to seal the raw metal and install the antenna.
