Any idea why a spigot shutoff would be on this heater core hose on my new to me 318?

Once got stranded at a party with a water neck leaking severerly bad. Made a new gasket out of a Coors Light carton to get us home.
Ran it for two weeks that way. How Redneck is that?

Pretty good but you should know the Redneck handbook specifies Lucky Lager cartoons for that application....

Cut it out with a pocket knife a dozen beers deep with a friend holding a flashlight that was 2 dozen in. Topped the coolant off from a garden hose.
