Any ideas why this happens with my distributor?

Hard to find but yes. The cardboard tok over a few years ago and as long as it and the distributor clamp are not painted and give a path to the ground your usually good.

Should I send you my distributor for rebuild or buy one from you? What do you suggest?

Would a poor ground Symptom be Premature Points Faliure ?

Thats usuallly a bad condenser.
