Looking for headers that fit without using a hammer. No reviews posted on the Doug's header website for a small block application in a 71-72 B body. Anybody out there that can tell me how they fit? (I have a 72 Satellite Sebring Plus: PB, PS, no A/C and slapstick 904). Thank you.

I'm no help as far as Doug's headers but I just got through swapping from a 318 and 904 to a 440 and 727 in my 72 Satellite Sebring Plus (PB, PS, no A/C, and slap stik as well).

I bought my headers from Jeg's. Their brand. Ceramic coated. They slipped right in from the bottom. Only had to nudge them in one spot using a large prybar right at the steering box. Then again, this is a 440 so it's wide as hell... If the smallblock headers are made with the same quality as the big block headers, they'll fit that smallblock easy as pie. Call 'em up and ask.

According to the Jeg's website, their brand does not fit small block B body with power steering, but that restriction could pertain to certain years.

I've installed a few sets on my chargers over the years the one set that didn't need a lot of help if any was the headman 's I did have a slight drag link clearing problem but a little tap tap and we we're good , the summit brand were also not bad but agen a little help from the hammer, I've had doug headers but they were already installed but they looked like hell (looked like they lost a fight with a hammer) but I didn't really see any reason for it so maybe they were on a diff car then made there way in to this car don't know BUT to be honest they all look the same size pipe routing so don't blow a lot on a name brand because it's just a tac'ed on name plate .good luck help I was some help
