I've been trying to find a coolant overflow bottle like this one in the photo. Its part number 3673808, and goes with my 73 Roadrunner and its 28" radiator. I know these were used on other b-bodies and some c-bodies, but it would seem that nobody makes a replacement. This one is still good, no holes, but very yellowed and will look like crap with my restoration.

If you have seen either new or NOS, let me know.

Thanks!

Nobody is reproducing the 73/4B bottle. The one on e-bay post above is different. Try like Rusty said and bleach it.

I will try contacting Herbs, and also try some bleach, didnt think of that. Thanks for the tips!

could try some simple green too. that sh*t works wonders! maybe a round of simple green to get the scale and crap off, then some bleach to whiten 'er up!

My 73 Satellite doesn't have one, even though it's 98% original and an a/c car.

I was having a problem with it overflowing after being shut off, but it seems to have stopped since I got the water level correct.

I was digging around in all my 72-74 parts, and found a bottle like you have. I suppoe I should mount it anyway.

Thanks for the cleaning tips.

Anyone got a pic of one mounted correctly?

O/F bottle was required in 72 so your 73 should have came with one.

Mark, did you take this picture? Just wondering what the numbers are on that radiator and if its in good shape?

Regarding the overflow bottle, yes, thats right, but the configuration i am looking for is not commom, or at least i have not seen it, most frequently i see this type of bottle for cars with narrower radiator.

Thanks for the pic.

My hose exits the driver's side of the rad fill neck.

Might be fun routing it to the bottle.

If you find bleach doesnt work, you might try some hydrogen peroxide and use a full spectrum fish tank light (which generates UV light) in a shop light. I tinker with some retro RC cars from time to time and thats what we use to restore 25 year old white plastic parts tht have yellowed badly. Let em soak for a few days and it'll turn your worst yellow parts bright white. now those parts are nylon, mind you, and i dont know if your overflow bottle is, so i suppose there is a chance it could damage the overflow bottle if it isnt nylon? But this works a lot better than bleach on those nylon parts.

Works best if you can get your hands on 20% or even 40% concentration peroxide, but the regular stuff works too, just takes longer.

How long did you leave it in? I've done it before. It takes several days.

You could be right there. Come it think of it most of my 72's didn't have a bottle. Maybe it was 73? Or was it 74? Gettin old sucks.
