Barn Find Of The Year

My best "survivor" story was my 71 Torino GT. Bought from the original owner. had original paint and original spare tire. 351C, "snakeskin" buckets, console a/c, shaker hood, "Shelby" (legend lime?) Green.

Also had worn out rear springs, a dent in the deck lid, an one hell of a trailer hitch welded in.

Story was, the guy was looking for a trailer vehicle. The dealer said some kid ordered the car and never picked it up. While the future owner was looing around, the dealer pointed to the Torino and said "That'll pull your trailer".

To this day, I've never seen another 351 car with a shaker. All the shaker cars I've seen have been 429 cars.

The original color was I think called "Sahara Bronze" or Sahara Beige" or something like that.
Since the plates on it are Wisconsin and are I think last registered 1972, my guess is that that car isn't the same one.

Don't discount the idea that it may be the same car. Those Corey boys back in the day traded cars about every 6 months to a year. Dad had lots of money and cars were relatively cheap back then as was gas. Savanna Illinois is only about 35 miles from the Wisc. state line.

I do believe you are onto something. Would be interesting how this story unfolds...
