Look guys, i get it! People want their cake and eat it too. Lots of people want great braking along with their hi-po cam. Im just trying to give my opinion and personal experience.
I know there must be hundreds of thousands of hydroboost systems out there that have been perfectly functioning, but i have had two trucks with them and BOTH have failed, one thru no fault of my own, one possibly due to maintenance issues. My diesel 3/4 ton had an idler freeze and shred the belt in the fan resulting in a very uncomfortable ride down a freeway offramp, hoping the e-brake would work.
It was a new-to-me truck but had a lot of miles. Did i do routine maintenance on the idler? No, but who does. I do NOW, because i know what can happen.
Did i stop driving the diesel? No, but i know what the risk is. I accept the risk, just like everybody else on the road, because there IS a known chance to die, but it is slim enough that people take that risk.
There is a knwn chance to die in everything we do as humans, we just choose not to let it make us crawl under a rock and wait.
I'm just trying to let you know what i think the risk is .
