Pretty sure the Cotton Owens Dodge in the picture was not the first car to have broken the 200 mph lap barrier, it was a Daytona and Baker drove it, but it was a blue #88 Daytona I believe out of Ray Nichels stable.
 
Damn. Not unexpected, but still, damn! RIP, Buddy Baker.
 
Buddy Baker was one of the best drivers in what most fans consider to be the best era of Nascar. He was one of my favorites. RIP Buddy.
 
Was sad to hear this news as well. Another great gone too soon. We'll miss ya Buddy. RIP

Well it's an old ad, I doubt they were shooting for 100% accuracy.. regardless, the point of the post was the loss of Buddy Baker. Bummer to hear
