Can't Trust Tracking Number Information Updates

Caught Amazon red-handed in a lie this morning. I received an e-mail update on a book order that claimed my order had shipped. Then I received another e-mail apologizing for not having found the book in stock and asking me what I wanted to do. So which is it?

"Caught them in a lie"... it's the way it works. Order, Ship "ticket" pulled, "OH we don't have any left".. refund..
