Just curious, should a Carter AFB hit hard when secondaries come in? This is the first time I've ever used an AFB and it is the smoothest carb I've ever run. It's almost like fuel injection. I was wondering if this is normal? I've mostly run Thermoquads and when the secondaries come in on a thermoquad, you get that slight hesitation and then loads of power. The AFB is just a smooth transition. Still have good power, but it doesn't have that hard hitting pop.

Well that AFB has smaller secondaries then the thermoquad so it wont feel the same. I would work the linkage and have some one floor the car while you make sure the back barrel's open all the way. That AFB should also have a weighted air valve down in the secondaries above the throttle blades. Make sure its free and opens all the way as if the carb sat for some time it could have gotten moisture on the air valve shaft and caused it to stick so check that air valve also to be free. Ron
