CDN72SE's Restoration Thread

Got the windshield installed today along with the polished trim, same for the back. Looking more and more like a car.

LOOK GREAT! Did you (and others) use the "foam" insulation, or matting, on roof before headliner install?

JDMAC, Used the Noico on the ceiling of the car, my car does get kind of tinnie (sp) up top so this should help.

Was going to throw out the REM insulation I got because it just didn't seem worth using.

In the end just decided to use it and glue it to the Noico, the REM stuff came in two pieces, neither fit nicely into the three/four areas so I just took some scissors and cut it up and made it fit.

As usual used the 3M 90 High Strength glue; works wonders.

Spray glued the insulation to the back of the sail panels, I had previously painted the panels with SEMS paint.

Attached the whiskers with the screws that came in the kit. Wish they had used clips like on the original whiskers.

Two seals/whiskers that pop into place with a tab, don't fit as well as the originals.

Nice job! In the same boat, getting those sail panels in is the first step to finishing the interior.

Jumping around a little bit, working on multiple things at the same time.

Well, finally did this a couple of weekends ago. Gotta love a single car garage, made it work, pushed the car a bit out of the garage.

Had the front suspension sitting on my wheels skates, used the skates and some scrap wood. Then carefully lowered the engine into place.

Since going from a 318 to the 360, I did end up buying the correct bracket.

Not a lot going on lately. Yesterday rolled the car out onto the driveway and test fitted my console. Since I am going from column to floor shift wanted to make sure everything lined up.

Over the next few days I need to get the following done.

1. Install the doors.
2. Install the fenders.
3. Undercoat the inside of the front fenders and rear wheel well.
4. Drop the engine in, or should I say lower the car onto the engine.
