Deck filler patch panel

Looking for some tips, does it look like I’m on the right path, both corners need replacement. Thanks in advance.

Plan to mig stitch… should I use .025, .030 or .035

Smaller wire might work better, less amps less heat, but .030 can work as well.

.023 Is best for thin metals. I turn it up hot enough to burn through on a continous weld. Then with short bursts the tacks lay down flatter. Work slow and cool often. The time spent welding and grinding slowly will more than offset the time spent fixing burn thru's and warpage.

You absolutely need the trim on hand. You' want to cut that patch panel down a bit because a smaller patch panel equals a shorter weld required. That looks like a nice patch panel and your car looks pretty darn solid too so it should go as well as it can.

having the trim on hand is for the tab location, or the new patch panel alignment?

You need the trim to confirm patch panel alignment and that the patch panel is shaped correctly. You can also look at the back of the trim and it will tell you where the mounting tabs were located.

Someone had posted where the bodyshop had everything done and painted.. then they had to rip back into the window opening to reshape it for the trim..
A blue 68-9 Dodge I think..
