Doctor Diff question.

I am W.D or better with all of the racing companies. I have nothing bad to say about Cass at Dr. Diff. I just get better pricing through Strange, Mark Williams, Moser, etc. Plus almost none of our stuff is a stock oem type replacement bolt in. Usually, always custom everything.

I support his decision to get work done and email only! I answer those on "my time" at night when the day is winding down, usually around midnight. I haven't taken a phone call in 26 years...

Then you have to go back and email again and again and again. Answer the F-ing phone!

Obviously never been a one-man show small business owner !!!

Having "been there and done that" I'll tell you that I just wouldn't be interested in your business. For one, people tend to rattle on about ****, then they want opinions ... "what do you think of this, what do you think of that", then there's the question of price and "can you do any better - I can get here here for this much". And then they call you back four more times 'cause there buddy who's more of an expert said this or that. And in the end you never hear from four out five of those time wasters and the one you do sell to has chewed up all your profit over the phone.

I've dealt with Dr Diff on several occasions - all by email. Always got fast replies. Always got all my questions answered. Not all resulted in purchases but a few did and were seamless - and we never once spoke person to person.

Well stated. I've concluded the ones that go on, and on, and on, talking about their kid going to school, or grandma is having tough times etc,, are just lonely people

That's the difference in customer service from a " Mom and Pop" shop compared to a Walmart shop and what keeps my business. I obviously wouldn't be doing business with you. BTW- You're still going to get email after email from customers. Do you think that will just go away? Its nice to talk to someone over the phone, especially if you're trying to get a quick answer working on a project. This is how it was done years ago and what I was used to. Now, customer service is gone and nobody knows didly squat.
I actually have a recent example. I bought two rear lap belts for my Super Bee from Seatbelt Planet. The two belts that I got had chrome release handle when I ordered the black wrinkled factory style. I CALLED and Steve answered the phone and right away said to mail them back and he would pay for the shipping cost and he would send out the other two belts right away. Thats how you do business. Not send an email and wait two days to get a response and then have to send another email to ask other questions about shipping, etc etc..
Thank you Steve, you will have my business for life.

Same with gkent all jigged up to weld a rotisserie together, burning electode and the phone rings... not gonna quit.

No, just a message that says, If I dont answer I'm busy, leave a phone number and I'll get back to you asap. See how that works, its not hard.

Nope, you'll get "Thanks for calling, if you're looking for the MRS leave a # and she'll call you back. If you're looking for me for advise, send me an email".

"What size bolts does it take?"

"It uses ten 5/8 x 1-1/2" grade eight bolts, nuts and washers at a buck apiece"

"Well, skip those, I can get them cheaper at Home Depot. So that'll save on shipping too, right?"

Take your business elsewhere ... please!
