all rims I've measured usually have an extra inch total for the full width and this is usually stated on the product websites. For example, my 15x8 centerline has an overall width of 9" and my 15x7 has an overall width of 8".
Where did you find an 8.5" wheel? I've been looking for a 15x7.5 wheel to fit perfect with 245/60/15's, but I don't think they make them...
This is an 18" XXR 555. Supposed to be 8.5". Going to be a lot more challenging fitting it, since it's really 9.5"s and that's without the tire on it. What will the total wheel width be, with the rim and the tire? According to my measurements, there is no more than 4" of room to play with in the back of the front wheel wells, with the steering cranked all the way over. I'm starting out with 6.5 inches of rim behind the mounting surface, so I'm in trouble without the tire.
I'm at a loss to explain how Kern Dog's rim fits. If it's a 9" rim, than it's 10" wide without the tire, and the tire does extend past the rim a bit.
To my eye, it looks like his backspacing would have to be more than 4 3/4, but even if it is only 4 3/4, it would still be at least an inch too much without a spacer? My Charger is a 72, but I doubt there is much difference in the suspension and wheel well. Am I wrong?
