Does anyone here like soccer?

U.S. soccer, no way ! It is more fun to watch paint dry. They play like they know that Americans don't give a ****.
Eoropean soccer I find quite thrilling. Back in April, in a crowded pub in Inverness, I enjoyed throughly watching and cheering the Liverpool vs Roma game.

You're right about this the soccer play in Europe is by far the best in the world, is fast , the plays are well executed and they don't make fool of themselves no wonder the best leagues are from Europe .

To me, Soccer isn’t much of a spectator sport. Fun to play, I liked it in High School gym class years ago, but totally unwatchable, like golf.
I think there is concerted effort by “the powers that be” to force soccer to catch on here, much like they tried to force the metric system down our throats in the 70’s. ( taking my tinfoil hat off now) The younger generations seem to like it though, I see more kids playing it over baseball in my neck of the woods.

Baseball falls into the same category as golf.

C’mon bro - if you played a lot growing up baseball can be enjoyable. I don’t watch too many season games - agree they can get long and boring. But when you get to the American/National League Championship series and the World Series I think it’s thrilling. But like anything I guess you have to love the game. I watched a bit of the World Cup Rugby this past weekend. Didn’t know much at all about the game. The U.S. teams did quite well and I found it interesting - will I become a rugby fan - doubtful.

It’s not that I don’t like it, since I’m down to 1 eye, my depth perception is shot all to hell and could hit a ball to save my life. That’s why I don’t like it.

I have played. It isn't a sport that interested me much though.
I have had the following opinion for quite some time:
The rise in popularity of Youth soccer along with the fall of youth baseball happened at the same time.
Anyone ever heard of the term "Baseball Moms" ? Me neither. I'm sure most have heard of "Soccer Moms" though.
In my opinion, it takes MORE skill to play baseball well. You need better eyesight and a keener sense of timing to pitch and to hit a baseball. I suspect that soccer was introduced to help the less skilled kids have a chance at a sport that anyone could play. No need for eye to hand coordination when you run and kick a ball. Almost anyone can do both at the same time. One thing I do see that Soccer offers over baseball is that the game is always moving. Baseball can be a game of wait, wait, wait then BOOM the action happens.

Soccer wasn’t that big, around here, back then. Hockey and baseball for me. Tried football for a season. Our HS team was one of the best in the state. So basically I got tired of getting my *** kicked.

This plays into my line of thinking. It feels as if it is "pushed" or promoted rather than enjoying natural interest.
I know I'll sound rude but it just seems like Soccer is a sport that allows a broader range of players, many that would not be able to play baseball. I was a fair baseball player...not great but a decent hitter and a great outfielder. I enjoyed it when it was moving but it was boring for a lot of the time. Maybe Soccer appeals to the kids that have short attention spans?

I agree because I like baseball, i don't like soccer, except the UEFA or the champions league ( don't like to watch mexican soccer) but at least in soccer the kids run more and they learn to play team IMO.
