Whos the brainiac ay Chrysler who decided to put two bolts front the inside and one bolt on the outside to hold the door hinges on? How do I access the bolts from the inside?

You gotta pull the door panel and probably some plastic sheeting to get at those inside bolts, it's a real pain in the butt design for sure.

I'm guessing the design engineers were not anticipating the need for the door hinges and door removal to have easy access. Otherwise, it could have been a selling point: "buy this car, because we have made removing the doors super easy for your convenience" :p

It all makes sense when you are adjusting them. Not that hard to pull off the kick panels- one screw. Why would you pull off the door panel?

OK, thanks. The upper hinge bolts looks like they are close to the glovebox area on right side. How do I get to those? kickpanel removal will access top and bottom bolts?

You did not say what car you are working on, but yes on my 68 and 69 they are reached behind the kick panels.

Is it not obvious that door panels and kick panels need to be removed ... how the hell else would you get at the bolts - remove fenders and door skins ?!?!?

Only the lower door hinge has 2 bolts on the inside, and one on the outside. Stop whining and remove the sill trim and kick panel.

why would you need to remove the door panels? The bolts are outside the door panel. You can access them by opening the door.

Yes really, LOOK at the hinges and now you tell me where the bolts are.
Are you blind? You cant see the upper hinge on the body side has two bolts from the inside and one from the outside and same with the lower hinge on the body side. SMH

Far as I can tell some are talking about the pillar 1/2 and some are talking about the door 1/2 of the hinge
Ok, your welcome.

It would have been easier to remove the door. Then then the screw at the sill plate that is attached to the kick panel you can normally work the kick panel out with just that screw removed by pulling up on it a little. Then the kick panel which would allow you to remove both hinges...

Find someone handy with a ratchet while you hold the door...

I am repairing both fenders, thats why I removed them. I am removing the hinges because I'm going to rebuild them with oversized pins and bushings. Plan is to leave door on. Remove both upper hinges and repair- re install, then do both bottom hinges. That way I dont have to remove the door and they stay very close to same adjustment.
