Drill Press?

My brother bought a Bridgeport, sight unseen, for $500. Well he shoulda looked because, it needed help. He give it to me and I have fixed it up, it only needs painted now.

Looking for something for occassional use. Wondering if the Harbor Freight stuff is good enough? I need to drill through some square steel tubing which I'll mount sway bar brackets too, like this -

I have had a Harbor freight drill press for 15 years always works well and does the job. I have a milling machine for the tough stuff.

I would instead recommend a good old used used one. Plenty of good used ones around for good prices.

How big do you want? I agree with a floor mounted one.
I have a FuManChu bench press in my engine assembly room and a 1940's vintage 21" drill press in my main shop... weighs about 400#'s!

I paid $50 for the Chicom one and $300 for the vintage one.
