Im gonna get my engine back from the builder in the next week or so. I was just wondering what type of orange paint you guys used. Heard good and bad things about both duplicolour and plastikote. Not sure which brand is better. Looking for a glossy orange colour..Also should i use a high temp primer before i use the orange. Thanks

Why not buy the proper paint from Mopar Performance at the dealer?

I use the Dupli-color myself. I have been very pleased with the results. I use it on about everything auto related. I don't give a squat about 'original' anything. A real car back in the day would've been modified somehow about the time it came home :-) Be imaginative. Make it what you like.

I used the mopar performance blue, but it sprayed out very nice, and coverage was good, took almost two cans.

Another option is to use automotive single stage that is activated. I work at a apint store and we put any color you want in a spray can. For engines I use PPG Concept and activate it. The stuff is bullet proof (charger pun intended). The down side is that anything we activate only lasts 3 days before it hardens in the can. DP Epoxy first, then DCC Concept. It never chips, peels, or fades. I have had it on my 68 for 15 years and I just wash it and it looks great. Can take engine heat no problem ,will not do exhaust manifolds.
