All I'm cleaning up my pedals and have a couple questions on e brake. The first one being the most important. I know people like pics, so added a couple before & after.

1. Can anyone confirm the length and thread for the studs? Mine broke off and not enough to be 100% of thread.

2. The plastic handle - is it a bitch to press the pin out/in? I'm debating replacing vs cleaning & painting the white lettering.

3. I've cleaned them up, I'm assuming most people do NOT disassemble completely (pins are uniquely crushed on the backside). I'm considering painting the main outside of the brackets in cast blast and then using Boeshield for the inner components. Do I need to grease the gear area?

4. The small spring inside broke, so I'm hoping they are resold.

Thanks
Ross

Brake release handle can be fun to get the pin out without denting the handle. use a block of soft wood for the backing as you tap the pin out.

Looks like you're missing the plastic bushing so that's another reason to take the handle off.

Studs are 5/16 with standard coarse thread. Replace with bolts but tack them in place.

A bit of grease won't hurt !

I usually spray that kind of stuff with "stainless steel" color as opposed to "cast blast". To me it looks more like the original stamped steel color.

Small spring ... can't recall where that goes !! What is it's purpose ?

This post may be of interest to you. The general concesus is: no spring !!!

Click on it - it'll take you to the whole thread.

I read that one, but there was absolutely a small spring inside (I have what's left of it). It's the small spring that is part of this kit. I'll just buy this kit.

There is a small bushing in the metal plate.
