Engine bored 30 thousands over

Trying to figure out what the new cubic inch a 440 engine would be if it was 30 thousand over

Does 30 thousands mean they took that much off each side so the diameter is 60 thousand wider or does it mean they took 15 thousand off each side and the diameter is 30 thousand wider ?

Oh dear, +.030 is the diameter and not the radius. A '030 over 440 is a 446.

With 0.001" of wear it's 440 inches almost exactly

There's a reason why the manufacturers rounded (usually up).

I guess the calculator is wrong at 445.85

Each individual 440 would have to be measured and calculated.. each bore had 4 different size ranges. Not to mention the factory .020 overs..

Technically speaking, yes, from one side, but only if you are measuring radius which is from the center to the outside. Diameter is the measurement across the bore so if you remove .030 it's thirty thousands larger. Do yourself a favor and don't go down that road.
