Hey guys i started wiring my 68 charger last winter and need a bit of help remembering where stuff goes.. The car has a new retro style alternator that is externally regulated, i have the voltage regulator mounted to the firewall and a pertronix electronic ignition. I hooked the red and black wire up to the coil..

First question is where does the purple and black wire that are tied together with a ring terminal go. To the alternator output stud? Last year i mounted a 100 amp circut breaker to the firewall. I was planning on running an 8 gauge wire from the outlet post on the alternator to the circuit breaker then another wire from the circuit breaker to the big post on the starter relay. I dont remember where i read to do this upgrade..

Second question is what happens to the lone blue wire that went to the coil if im using a pertronix setup. Can i use this wire for my electric choke?

Last question is what happens to the ballast resistor wires with all this setup. The blue n brown wire and the blue/white tracer wire?

Here check out these diagrams and try to trace each one to make sure you are adding in the breaker correctly. Yes the blue and black go to the alternator stud, the ballast resistor wires have to go back on the resistor see the diagram. I would run from the alt to the breaker then to the battery I am assuming this was your plan? yes 8 awg is ok will work great. should be red though lmao just kidding..

Question though you say you hooked the red and black wires up to the coil? Are trying to use the ballast or get rid of it? you have a choice. If you keep it or lose it follow the instructions in the pertronix kit. if you lose it buss the resistor wires together to complete the circuit.

Thank you. I am trying to get rid of the resistor. I got the proper coil pertronix recommened. I was thinking of keeping it on the firewall and running a jumper wire
