Thanks Ed. Yes, us safe! Charger safe!Damn, man. Just damn...
Hard to find any good in such, but I suppose at least you and yours are aware and
safe, as is the Charger eh?
Sorry to hear about your loss Derwood. Yes, these are strained times it seems!I feel your Pain.. We almost lost our Family Cabin due to the Gender Reveal Party Fire.. Came within 100 Yards.. My Father passed away last July and he had a House in the Monrovia Foothills that we sold at the beginning of the year and the Bobcat fire came within 50 yards of that place. Bad time..
I see an Imperial in the background.View attachment 1007797 View attachment 1007798 View attachment 1007799 View attachment 1007800 Woke up this morning with heavy ash fallout over everything. Still have evac stuff ready at door from last time.
So...
Went up the mountain unchallenged by LE and got to house. Looked like a volcano was erupting in backyard.
Loaded wife's SUV with a bunch of things she wanted and the old F250 and took them down the hill. Went back 2x and got other vehicles and precious things like the Charger's OE carburetor & lots of parts while wife loaded pictures and clothes. Go figure...
Didn't make a 4th trip. Saw flames down the end of the next road over about 1/3 mile away and decided I didn't need anything else. Decided wife didn't either and booger'd out of there for the duration.
So we are safe, Charger is safe and some things are safe.
Could be worse- 4 friends have lost their houses already.
Winds were favorable for us today (which means not for others unfortunately) and are supposed to die down tonite. The line is being held just below my dad's place but still creeping slowly.
Time will tell...
Saw a wide variety of aircraft in minutes from my front porch. It was quite the airshow today and we are grateful for their efforts.
THANK YOU FIRE FIGHTERS!

This one just dumped its load. That's how close the perimeter is.View attachment 1008033
Be safe everyone!
Thanks for sharing!! This has got to be driving him crazy. This seriously sucks.BDF6 is ok. Thank God. So is his house. Surrounded by others less fortunate. He’ll post when he can.
Well we made it through this one. Thank you all for the thoughts & prayers!
In Napa now but service is still terrible.
Got home Monday night, gas meter disconnected & padlocked, mailbox tied shut with sherriff's crime scene tape. Had water & electricity (until Wed. when it was shut off again until midnight tonight).
I enjoyed driving the Charger when I did but overall I'd have to say it was NOT a pleasant nor relaxing trip.
Had some 'mess' to clean up here but still have everything.
Many people I know have nothing now.
Pretty much another huge disaster.
Good thing is my wife is very receptive to a change of venue.
