Yes, the rubber bends down 90*. Note they use a J nut clipped into the frame rail hole. Can't show you a picture as I'm at camp. Pics are on my desk top at home..

I was looking at the frame rails, but its pretty well covered with undercoating. So am going to look again and see if I can chip away and find those holes.
