Great idea for a thread......I dreamed about '69 Dodge Chargers since I was about 14, and ended up buying my own at 19. Put me up for 30 years Tallhair. :headbang:
Started working in a Chrysler Plymouth dealership at 18 years old in 1966 till 1979 and have owned Plymouths', Dodges and Chryslers' ever since. That's about 47 years.
I got my first in 1977 but had helped my dad since 70 when he had bought his 69 Coronet R/T Hemi 4 speed "family car". So that would be.... 36 years or.... 43 depending on your point of view.
My first car was a 1971 Demon that I bought from a junkyard my uncle worked at in 84. I've had a few GM's over the years but I always had a Mopar. 29 years and counting.
I started driving in 1968 in a 1959 Dodge 9 pass SW and if I was with my parents a 1966 chrysler 300
then two years with a 1958 Chev I owned in 1971 I bought a 1969 Sport Satellite with a 383 and factory holley that I wrecked and replace with a 1969 satellite 318 and drove till 1974 then bought a 1973 SSB 400 auto that I parked 17 years ago now I have it at home in garage to get ready to drive again
Bruce
friends had 440 GTX 4 speeds and race prepped Cuda with 383 4 speeds i got to drive
Also a couple road runners Challengers and other brands
I remember "helping" my dad fix his Dodge van, changing the ignition coil after we conked out in a heavy rainstorm, going thru a big puddle. I was 8. Got my first Mopar in 1978 when I was 17, a Dodge 100 van, 318/3 on the tree..Bought my first 70 Satellite vert in 1980 (also 318/3 on the tree). So 44 years counting loose, 35 years being a hardass !!!! LOL
Not exactly setting the world afire with my addition but throw me in for 4 years lol
Really started getting into cars towards the end of high school. Bought my '67 Chevelle to start learning the basic in's and out's of classic car restoration (mopars around here seemed out of my price range at the time), started the search for my Charger, and researching as much as I could about mopars. Finally got my dream car just after my 20th birthday, and have had mopar on my brain ever since :icon_thumleft:
I got my 73 Road Runner in 1982 - my first car. (Almost) still have it - gave it to my son when he turned 16.
Anyway, I have been into Mopars since then. So count me in for 31 years, although I have to say that doesn't make me any kind of expert! That probably means I have wasted much of that time and not learned all I can :confused4:
I have 34 yrs i started working on them when i was 15 bought my first mopar when i was 15 a 69 coronet 440 with a 318 i think that was 1981 paid 75 bucks for it it had a jumped timing chain . i mostly worked on and drove trucks my whole life worked at a dodge dealer and a mack dealer for about a yr each i dont like dealers so i worked for a big company most of it ,
