Iirc on that model it has a threaded rod. To increase pressure turn it so the rod gets longer.

I’ve had a torque converter go south on me. It made for very little throttle response at lower rpms regardless of speed. The other comments regarding linkage adjustments and/or overlap sound to be most likely.
 
Seems that it was likely the kickdown being too tight. Took it to work yesterday,about a 50 mile round trip, and didnt have any issues other than a squeaky belt.
 
So now your torque converter feeds back too much torque to the engine, causing the belt to slip....lol.
Good you got it sorted out, things like that can really fuzz up the brain sometimes.
