After a long journey with a new motor and trans problems, hit the track for 3 runs last night with the 67 Coronet race car. Basically celebrating our 44 year anniversary together (actually bought it beginning of October 1981). Made one 14 second pass last year then starter issues.

Never made anywhere a full pass and my Co2 shifter did not work and that really screwed me up. Went 9.96 @ 115 mph with a very gentle launch, very short shift that went straight into third then lifted. Its encouraging - the car will be fast per my definition. Last pass was very gentle at least half way to the 1/8th mile, then lifted and went 9.90 @ 135.5 mph. Will get it sorted out this winter to hit the track in the spring!

Looks very encouraging. Must have lots of time and engineering in a car that runs that quick.

Why a C02 shifter. I don't understad putting in a system that can fail in so many ways.

I had one, it worked great. However, i have to admit.....I have more fun personally driving the car myself if you know what i mean. There are many gadgets for consistency, that take a lot of fun out of the run.

Should be in the 140's when sorted out?
