I loved trains when I was a kid........... like I do now + in between working on the RR for 38 years

I built this locomotive a 442 Atlantic 7.5 gauge a 1.6 scale weighing in at 850lbs with 11 inch drivers and with 3 inch cylinders.

The boiler walls 3/8" and the back head and flue sheets were 1/2"

The engine suspension was sprung between the 2 drivers for better traction.

I have too many pictures so here are a few.

I could no longer run it because of the coal sulfur dioxide fumes raised hell with my breathing and skin irritations.

I used to work with a guy who has a few acres with 7 1/2" guage on it and a club to maintain and operate it.

I've been there a couple of times.

That turn table is cool.

I scratch built an HO scale table once.

In fact, that's how I found out that guy I worked with had all that stuff.
I briefly mentioned it to him and he wanted to see it.
