Found a new project. Ram D250

Thank you all for following this thread. I know it's not a B Body, but this is my favorite car website by far.

Next question. There is a big splice off the Pos + battery, 2 wires in, 5 fusible links out. The fusible link to the alternator is fried. Couple options: replace the fusible link with another, or add an in line fuse. Question is, how do I get the correct one? Wire size is 6ga, no idea of the amps.

I circled the two "in" wires, 6ga fusible link is what is blown.

Do you know what size the alternator is. It's most likely 75 or 90, which will determine fuse size if that's the power wire from the alternator.

What I like about fusible link wire is you can determine an open circuit easily the link will stretch like a rubber band if it's blown

I don't. I'll just replace it with fusible link of the same size.

Received my trans rebuild parts, including new bands, clutches, and steels.

I'm back to work after taking the week off and the temps got cold so my motivation is just not there today to get in and start the trans rebuild. I did get ATF+4 to soak the clutches and Vosoline for assembly lube.

So I was able to work on the transmission over the weekend. All new seals, steels and frictions. Nothing looked bad.

Went to put the VB on and nothing but troubles from the park rod. No matter what I did, it kept dropping into the wrong spot, which is a little retarded on the engineering side. Right above the correct spot in the picture....

So off came the OD housing, and I wrestled with it 30 more minutes, dropping it on, checking with the camera, until it clicked in.

And once I was picking up my mess, I found this...

Which goes under the od piston housing. The very last thing to come out during a rebuild. When I was putting it together, I grabbed this gasket which drops ver the housing, nothinking there would be a second piece to this...

So I'll pull it apart again to add the gasket. End play looked good none the less.
