Season 3, Eps 3 & 5 - 69 Dodge Charger and a 69 Dodge Super Bee are the targets on the Sunday afternoon re-runs.
I saw the green Super Bee show a couple of nights back, and it was quite interesting.

It would be cool to know if any of the TV cars ever made it to FABO or FBBO etc.

I try to respect those shows but I always end up looking at the car owners as losers.
Come on, man....a crew of other guys has to come over to fix your car for you? Really?
I understand that few of us are capable of doing everything on our cars. There are people that may be adept with engine building or bodywork that get stuck on electrical issues. These guys though....I can't help but see impotent "car guys" that need the Viagra Van of real car guys to swoop in and pump them up.
If a man is old or disabled, sure...I get it. MOST are not.

The show was done in my general area. I can only recall running across one of the completed cars though. A pro street 68 or 69 Barracuda I saw at a cruise with the film crew etc right after it was completed. And it was there a few other times.
They were working on a Pantera in my buddy’s neighborhood shortly before the show got canceled. I don’t recall seeing the episode with the Pantera.
I never fail to be amazed at how many cars there are that sit in garages and never come out. There may be at least one in every neighborhood! Some are projects, some need a few repairs, others are ready to roll. But they seem to have fallen of the owners radar screens and they just say they’ll do something with it someday. Obviously they have other more important priorities in their lives than the car.

I would like to see them go back in six months and give us an update on each car. I wonder how many of the cars that they got back together. Running and driving end up sold off. How many end up abandoned back in the garage after the first problem pops up.
Hopefully there is a few of these guys, that the help remotivated them. They continue to improve on the cars, and continue to enjoy them.

I agree with this....just like the DIY home renovations ....would like to see the house after the dust has settled and the film crew has gone home.

As it happens, I am a member of the Vintage Vans forum (sorry about that Joey)....the A100 surf van that was 'modified on Wheeler Dealers is up for sale as of a couple of days ago. I have asked the current owner for some more detailed shots of the front end.....he at least replied to my text (as that is how he wishes to communicate) but said the van is quite low and it might be difficult.

The owner freely admits that the workmanship from the TV show left a lot to be desired....in fact he got a payout to assist the actual repairs needed to make the van safe and driveable.
The price on the Auction/Sale site is a touch unrealistic at $9,999,999.00 (I didn't see OBO)

I'm seeing a fair amount of hokey work under there. :p

With all the foo pas fixed I’d own it. Gotta lose the pink panther and scratch on a bit more patina.

I've watched it a few times. As with most of these "reality" shows, auto or otherwise, I take it with a HUGE grain of salt. "Resto-in-a-day" or week, or whatever time it takes, IN YOUR OWN GARAGE. Really ? I think of it as a spiff-it-up to make a decent driver quality car, that people for one reason or another, don't have the ability or wherewithall to do so. Of course, as post #5 says, a follow-up would've been interesting. Like I've often thought of those phony home-improvement shows, or flip-it shows.

The over 70 crowd here is growing pretty fast here Greg.....I have about 3 more months to go before I'm 73 and already have a hard time getting up off the creeper. If GS was still in 'business', I wouldn't mind them coming to help me stick mine back together.....I even considered contacting them and filled out the info page on the website but never hit the send button.

I was thinking, you and a few others here on the FBBO crowd, was going to come over and do a makeoever on one of my cars.... while I sit back watching, having a beer and pizza.

 :poke:Get a group together and I'll sit with ya drinking beer and eating pizza!

They can bring Cristy Lee by anytime to help me with my projects! Any girl who can remove a power brake booster from a 69 Charger is welcome with open arms!

See, that is right to my point.
When I'm not physically able to lift an axle or install a transmission, I'd welcome the help. The episodes that had an older guy getting help were the favorites of mine because I think that we all can relate to that. The day will come for me too. I already have difficulty lifting engine blocks. I can't lift a Dana 60 anymore...I used to lift them alone but years of construction and age have taken their toll.
The episodes where the owner is active in the work are realistic to me. It looks like a bunch of guys just scrambling to get the car together. I think many of us can relate to that. I miss those days. I had friends that lost their passion for cars and just faded away. Those good old days have faded away too.

There seems to be a common theme with all the owners on that show......every one of them has suffered some sort of family tragedy or major set-back.
Unless your wife left you for a younger guy, your dog got run over, and you have MS or cerebral palsy and only one leg.....you don't stand a chance.

What about Stormy Heather? She knows how to handle a tool.....in the earlier seasons she gets down and dirty with the boys.
Undoing trans pans, pulling out valve covers....doing the nasty carpet jobs.

The last two Dana 60s I bought,I took out of the truck by myself and brought them into the garage! Not sure I will be attempting that anymore!

It is probably "marketing". TV magic, made up stories, etc. The world seems to love those "comeback" type of stories.
