Like others have said, build it how you want it. From an opinion standpoint, I would agree not to go the General Lee route. You will constantly be getting pestered by people telling you the General Lee is supposed to be a 69, and there are enough of them already anyways.
The cheapest route is to leave the rear in there. I like the idea of a Blade tribute, or even screw the tribute idea and just make it a tubbed car in the original color. Most importantly, have fun, MAKE A PLAN and be sure your budget allows for it. Certainly the car is worth more without the tubs and roll bar, but that will take a lot of work and $$$ to remove. Build what you want and can afford and the heck with worrying about making the car valuable...
