Hi Folks - my names Paul. Just picked up my first classic car project, 68 Charger.
I'm learning as I go, working with a realistic budget and taking a thoughtful approach to the build.

Really looking forward to picking up tips, sharing progress, and connecting with others who’ve been down this road. Appreciate any advice and guidance — especially when it comes to metalwork and early-stage planning.

I'll open up a build thread shortly to provide some more insights into the car.

Thanks!

Paul

Welcome. If you don’t have the front end parts, get your wallet. Not for $$$, but for credentials to start the process to RE-MORTGAGE the house.

Welcome from CT. What state are you, no big deal if you don't want to say.

Welcome from Alabama, 68 is the best year of the Gen II Charger IMO.

Welcome to FBBO from Georgia.

Welcome to FBBO fromNorCal Sierras, Toulumne Co.

better save your pennies, have a decent saving, it's gonna be pricey
but worth it hopefully when done,
they fetch high prices today, astronomical in some cases
when done right

a Resto-Mod (serious day 2 car) done professionally
Tastefully done, there's some that have gody interiors & fugly wheel tire combos too
many times thye bring more value than, a 100% OE resto too
todays buyers wants their cake & be able to eat it/drive it too
or
do an accurate 100% OE restoration with all #s matching

hope you got a lot of parts with it, it will $100 to $1,000+ you to death
if you don't have all the lil' parts & trim or interior, gauges, grill, year specific pieces etc.
shipping alone today will break many projects budgets
