Been years since dealing with any wheels but I have an old pair of 10" slots and advertised them on FB hoping someone local would respond but so far all of them either live in CA or FL lol. Wheels weren't all that cheap to ship 10 years ago and only imagine what they are now. Hate to use UPS because they started up charging me on just about all of my shipments even after I added weight to the total. Using the UPS store scales even said my packages were lighter than listed and I still got upcharged so...may just check with the post office instead.

Forgot all about them. Can you initiate a shipment at one of their stores?

If I recall correctly you can go to Fastenal shipping and you can get a quote online kind of like UPS using dimensions and weight.

Yeah, done that years ago but had to print out a copy of the order iirc. My printer died awhile back.....and hardly ever use it anyways so I'm not going to bother with another.

Shipped 4 turbine wheels 2 boxes 75 lbs total $150 from Ct to western Ohio. USPS

I think they would do it at the store. I have bought a lot of stainless bolts for my restoration in the last couple of months and the guys at my local Fastenal are also cool and probably would print it. Give your local store a call.

Took a set of used headers to UPS Saturday for shipping, $273 half-way across the country, so brought them home to look for alternate options.

Following this. I have a set of old daisies, that i would like cudachick to do for me, but they simply aren't worth a $300 round trip, plus the powder coat bill. Now, if i had real mag halibrands........

Recently,I shipped a steering wheel to Nebraska from Nevada. My guess was $40. The guy buying the wheel said he would pay a max of $25. Cost me $44.75 to ship it to him. Don't care, one less part I got to get rid off. Many more to go...
Oh, I forgot to say I shipped it in a wheel box that I had.

Try a bus company Greyhound or trailway.... actually I don't even know if they exist anymore but I've sent larger items on the bus and was surprised how inexpensive it was.

I'm slightly confused. (Slightly? LOL) Did it cost $44.75 to ship, or $69.75?

Old daisies?[/QUOTE]
15x7, 15x8.5 one piece american racing 200s, probably forty years old, originally with polished spokes.

Try parcelmonkey.com, they shop various rates and in general give a cheaper rate than going direct to the carrier

I would love to know how the guys doing eBay "fast and free" are doing it. I recently bought bumpers for another project. The shipping was insane on most websites. $60 (ea) for handling, and $99 (ea) for shipping. That's $320 to ship two bumpers! I found the same bumpers for the same price on eBay...and free two day shipping.

#1-

volume shipping, You get discounts.

#2-

if seller #2 can make money at that price while eating a discount shipping rate, what profit margin does seller #1 have?
