Has anyone shipped wheels lately? Costs?

33 IMP, the shipping cost was $44.75.
YY1 I too have heard that E-bay sellers get a volume discount.I guess you have to sign up or something.
For me I only sell on the Bodies web when I see a wanted ad or have something that might be of use to another here.

Following this. I have a set of old daisies, that i would like cudachick to do for me, but they simply aren't worth a $300 round trip, plus the powder coat bill. Now, if i had real mag halibrands........

I appreciate your confidence more than mere words can convey but I don't mess with used alloy or aluminum wheels at all.

People love their silicone-based Armor All and tire wet products too much. It leaches into the metal and the only thing that will remove it is a wicked, restricted, EPA-controlled chemical called B17 that is so volatile I absolutely will not have it in my shop. (It actually BOILS magnesium so it isn't an option for used Hallibrands either.)

They'll look all right from 10-15 feet back but up close there will be matte and shiny areas. In extreme cases you will actually FEEL defects in the form of tiny volcanoes (called "outgassing") which no amount of non-chemical prep, preheating or blasting can eliminate. It won't happen until there's a layer of powder on there ... and then it comes right through in all its unfortunate glory.

It doesn't adversely affect steel wheels at all, just porous aluminum and alloys.

If you get them done locally make sure you get to see and feel their work samples first. Everything can look spectacular from ten feet back in a picture.

Wet tire products is something I've NEVER liked the look of. Tire Black is another one that's not in my shop. A buddy of mine used Armorall on his Subaru (a what?) interior every week back in the 70's and I didn't like the look or the way it felt sitting on it....didn't like the way his whole interior rotted away in a short time either so that's not a product that was in favor either. Several years back I worked an estate sale that a dirt racer left behind and there were several Halibrands there and doubt he ever used silicone based cleaning products on them but how do ya know?? Did bring those home with me though...
