I need therapy now..Thanks to the driver side header. Well passengers side wasn’t helpful either. Where’s Dr. Phil’s dorky *** when you need him? Better yet maybe it’s not therapy I need but a stiff drink?

Or maybe I should look on the bright side. I don’t have to work on my old 496 in my 71 Vette’s bay!

Time for a stiffy ur……….

I see the problem ... you're trying to put them in with engine installed !!
Lol getting the drivers side out without removing the steering box was the worst! It was like trying to remove a square block through a round hole. I did need ******* help lol. She’s almost ready to pull.

Disconnect the engine mounts and lift one side of the engine up at a time - should be able to install the header from the bottom.
Those headers look like Dougs.
If they are, I installed the same ones in a buddies 73 Duster 340 A/C car & did just that and it worked.

Some things don't get better with time. Do not remember any of this back in the day. Hell, I installed the Hooker headers in an evening including welding up the exhaust on my '71 Demon at the gas station. We closed at 10:00! The TTI's on my current Dart, I can't use the orginal starter, have to use a Dakota. Miss the sound of the old starter.
Good luck with your install.

It actually is a de-install as I am removing the engine to rebuild it.
