Not sure what anyone else is hearing, but I've spoken to a couple of dealers yesterday and heard that there will only be 1300 Challengers built. Disappointing. I like to get one, but I'm not kissing anyones *** to spend 60K plus.
Guy at the dealership told me yesterday that they have 3 "sold" orders. If they only make 1300, a lot of people are going to be getting their deposit back.

Tell your contact at your dealership that he's full of crap. Dodge is building as many as they can sell.

I really hope that's the case, but all I'm getting is: "I really don't know and we can't guarantee you get a car"

I can think of other ways to tie up 10 plus grand on a deposit only to have the bad news that you can't get the car you really want.

Base price is $59,995, not limmited #'s

I'm with RC/DH

That dealer or those dealers, are trying to get more $$$, Don't believe it...
Dodge has so much as said there's no cap on how many Hellcats will be made, not a limited run !!...
maybe if they get some kind of parts supply issues, late in the build run maybe, it might effect production #'s,
otherwise I would think the dealers are trying to pull a fast one...

IMHFO those alleged 1200-1300 production #'s were early rumors/speculations/conjecture,
spread mostly by bitter &/or frustrated, Ford/Shelby & Chevy/Camaro lovers, all the
doubters, haters, a few automotive bloggers & a select few writers....

Yesterday was apparently the first day for order to be input. I got a copy of my Hellcat order from the dealer last night by e-mail. My build priority said 99, but I assume that is some kind of build code rather than an actual build number. Last I knew, the CEO said the 1,200 cars, was a rumor from nowhere that had taken on a life of it's own. He discounted that any set number had been determined, and that they would build based on demand. If they build any fewer than ordered, it will most likely be due to supplier constraints.

Hellcat 0001 is supposed to be auctioned off for charity at Barrett Jackson the 25-27th of this month, so they had better get production cranked up!

The dealerships want you to think it's going to be limited production and rare. They do this so they can charge a premium over and above the sticker price. Any one that has worked in a new car dealership knows this. There have been a few articles where people @ Dodge will sell as many as they can. The truth is they'll only sell as many as they can build and odds are the limiting factor on this will be how many engines they can build.

Ordered my Sublime fully loaded Hellcat last night. 8 weeks build time is what I was told.

Amen. I went through that game 8 years ago for a GT500 and finally figured out you were never going to get one for sticker. I eventually punted and bought an '07 GT 5sp that I chewed 4k off the sticker in negotiations (I successfully focused my anger over the GT500), then threw a SALEEN extreme 550hp blower on it.

Dodge is doing it right by crafting incentives for dealers to sell.

I'm not worthy! :notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

And yes I get it for MSRP. :-)

Ditto

Well, I've got two dealerships telling me they will sell one for sticker, they just can't answer any questions.

Most sales vultures don't know **** from shine-o-la. However, there are a few who are "up" on these cars and it's just a matter of finding them. I had no luck at my local dealership and I was turned on to a dealer in MO. If the car comes in before the snow flies, I'll fly in and drive it home because there is no better way to enjoy a brand new car than taking it for a long, long drive.

Got it ordered!! Had to talk to the sales manager. a couple of days after my last inquiry is when they said that they were able to actually put in an order.
Ordered a silver car with blacked out hood, manual, upgraded tires, upgraded nav and premium leather trimmed black/ruby red seats. My only bitch is that with the seats, you get red seat belts, and they charge you 95 bucks. I'd just rather have black.

Now comes the hard part....waiting.
