Hi, I'm new and from michigan starting a rotisserie resto on a 1968 charger rt its now green with a 80's snorkel fiberglass hood been in a barn most of its life, was a quarter mile strip car not molested too much taking it back to the original silver with black interior, looking for misc. parts, which i will be posting in the correct threads i hope. thanks, Don.

Welcome neighbor, post up some pics when you can.

hi and welcome to the site ,yes post some photos , lot of charger boys here :headbang:

thanks to all, will be adding pics and video this week as soon as i figure out how to do it, starting disassembly will take you through it all, this may take while. it does have a date with the media blaster around november 15th so the ball starts rolling tomorrow. gonna take it slow and easy, gonna keep it mostly original maybe a few upgrades to motor and brakes. I've been looking for years for the right one and consider myself lucky as hell to find this one 68 charger day 1.jpg

I remember seeing this one for sale .

welcome to FBBO

love them 68's

I remember that style hood very well too

good luck with your car

Nice car you got there. 68/69 chargers are the one to have.

Welcome aboard Don.
Thanks for joining the forum.
Great car and a truly great find!

PS: Go Detroit Tigers!

(Im a Red Sox fan...you guys go win the pennant and the World Series now!)

nice looker Don....though admittedly, I'm partial as all heck to 68 chargers.
Learned to drive on my mom's med. green metallic many moons ago.

keep me posted on your decision to upgrade brakes. I'm working on a 68 RT
project (bought a beautiful rolling chassis and a bunch of boxes), and the
solution for brakes upgrade hasn't become clear yet.

I see your from detroit, I'm west of ann arbor in grass lake. as far as disc conversion, I'm still not quite decided yet is around 1000 bucks i do have the larger drum and there are complete. , wasn't planning on driving it enough to heat up the old drums, plus mine still has the left handed threads on the drivers side lug bolts. I'm leaning on originality, what I've seen in watching ebay and craigslist for the last 6 years(took me 5 years to find mine) originals get better returns when they sell, I had a barracuda i was never planning on selling, but the 2008 crash took care of that. So I'm kinda following that just in case, trying to keep the cost of the resto near the value of it complete, that means using alot of the original stuff and doing most of the work. I have a resto thread also you can check out, updating it today. good luck, post some pics that u have it would be nice to see that i'm not the only one with high ambitions.
