Afternoon Folks. Perhaps you can help me. At the end of my high school days, one of my best friends bought a new Charger. I think it was a 72, but here are some of the things the car came with.
The night he got it, it was cold, I remember. It had Stock wheels/tires with dog dish hubs. He stopped by and he said, "I have new wheels/tires for the car, lets go burn these off". I was in. My buddy did a lot of work to that Charger to make it even faster in the Quarter. Unfortunately, we lost him to Colon Cancer at an early age. Note to self, keep getting checked. Anyway, I think it had some unusual features, that I remember. So, perhaps you all can help me know what year it was exactly. This is what I remember.
It came with a 440, 4 barrel, 4 Spd, Suregrip. It had a bench seat. No Aircon. I know it would run 140mph (probably a rear in the 2's?). Was with him when we did it. I know it had an Air Grabber on the hood. I do not think it had hide away head lights. It was Blue with white interior. It sounded GREAT!! He went to "Mechanics" school in Denver where he "Built" the engine. Unfortunately he spun a main one night in a Drag just after his return from school. So, do you have enough to go on to make a determination of Year and perhaps Model?? He was a GREAT guy. Unfortunately, I have no photos, just memories. Best, Brian
