Help with tie rod end boots - Energy boots not seating right...

Hello,
I just did my tie rod end boots with Energy Suspension boots. Why do they look stupid??? The oem has a ring on the bottom that seats them. These don't so they Spread around the tie rod end like bell bottoms. Is this normal???

They fit tight on both ends but when they squish down they pop out and spread around the joint. They are the correct part number for my car as well.

I tried to find the "correct" style with snap on bottoms as described above 10 years ago and could not.
